Our History

1866
A heritage of enterprise. Founded as a family-owned foundry business, our roots stretch back over 160 years. From manufacturing to consulting, we’ve always been driven by long-term thinking and positive impact.
1983
Employee ownership begins. Philip Baxendale transferred the business into employee trust ownership, creating a model built on shared responsibility, fairness and sustainable success.
2000
Values protected for the future. Our employee ownership model was protected in perpetuity through The Baxi Partnership Trusts Act 2000 and developed into a capital fund and consultancy service, reinforcing our commitment to independence and long-term value.
2013
Becoming Baxendale. 30 years after embracing employee ownership, we rebranded as Baxendale – carrying forward a heritage of enterprise, purpose and people-first values.
2020
BAXCQC launches. Expanded into primary care through our specialist CQC compliance and improvement service, providing hands-on and tailored support for each organisation.
